Will Stephen (born August 1989) has been a writer on Saturday Night Live since 2015. At Yale he joined the improv group Just Add Water, performing alongside actors like Allison Williams, who remains a close friend.
With dreams to stay in comedy, Stephen moved to New York after college and took classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade while working a day job as an assistant to a theater professor.
In 2015, he and fellow UCB performers Fran Gillespie and Sudi Green got picked up, and hired to write on SNL. While Gillespie and Green left the show in 2021, after six years, Stephen remains a writer there, although Green returned to the show, for the first-half of Season 50 in 2024. Over the years, Stephen has written sketches such as "Drake's Beef" from the May 14, 2016 episode, as well as the "Come Back, Barack" sketch from the November 18, 2017 episode.
Stephen was named a writing supervisor on February 4, 2023.
