Tim Curry (b. April 19, 1946) is an English actor. Known for his devilish and black-humor roles, his films have made him a household name. He hosted the December 5, 1981 episode of Season 7 of Saturday Night Live in 1981, when Meat Loaf was the musical guest. His monologue was more of a comedic scene between him and Eddie Murphy.
A famous sketch from his show was between him and Meatloaf and was a reference to their roles in the cult hit film Rocky Horror Picture Show. The sketch involved Tim Curry and Meatloaf doing a commercial for their new store, called Tim and Meat's One-Stop Rocky Horror Shop. The store sells everything that a first-time viewer will need before going to see Rocky Horror in theatres, including a water pistol, a newspaper, a guidebook to everything the audiences shout out during the show, and rice to throw in the air. These props all reference the audience participation that makes Rocky Horror Picture Show the beloved cult film that it is today.
