The Replacements were an alternative rock band which were the musical guest for the January 18, 1986 episode of SNL. They played their song "Bastards of Young" during the first half of the show and then got heavily intoxicated before they performed their second song, "Kiss Me on the Bus." As a result, their drunkeness on duty got them banned from appearing on the show again. Though the band never returned to the show, lead singer Paul Westerberg, now a solo artist, appeared on December 4, 1993.
