Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner (born 2 October 1951), better known by the stage name Sting is an English musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, activist, actor and philanthropist. He is best known as the principal songwriter, lead singer and bassist for the rock band The Police before launching a solo career.
For his musical guest appearances, he performed "We'll Be Together" and "Little Wing" and also he was in the sketch "Bullets Aren't Cheap" all in the October 17, 1987 episode. Despite his only hosting and musical guest appearance for the January 19, 1991 episode he also performed "All This Time", "Mad About You" and "Purple Haze". On the February 20, 1993 episode he performed "If I Ever Lose My Faith in You", "Love Is Stranger Than Justice" and "Every Breath You Take" also he was in the cold opening sketch "Town Meeting" all in the February 20, 1993 episode. In the February 24, 1996 episode he performed "Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot" and "You Still Touch Me" and also he was in the "1-600-555-AUSSIE" sketch as he played an Australia operator. He performed "Brand New Day" and "Desert Rose" and also he was in the "Pretty Living" sketch all in the November 20, 1999. For each of his musical guest appearance, he play Goldsting, Rod Stewart, an Australia operator and Hal "The Hawk" Robbins. He was also impersonated by Jimmy Fallon on the October 21, 2000 episode during the " VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards" sketch and the December 17, 2011 episode during the "Michael Bublé Christmas Duets" sketch.
