This was Kyle MacLachlan's hosting debut, and the first out of the two musical guest stints for Sinéad O'Connor.

Jon Lovitz and Nora Dunn are gone from the intro, and the first credits for Chris Farley and Chris Rock (who were added to the middle category, as featured players), who were hired in their place.
