This season introduced four new cast members: Vanessa Bayer, Paul Brittain, Taran Killam, and Jay Pharoah, while Will Forte and Jenny Slate did not return to the show from the previous season. Abby Elliott and Bobby Moynihan were both promoted to repertory status, while Nasim Pedrad remained a featured player.
