Roger Ebert (June 18, 1942 - April 4, 2013) was an American film critic who worked at the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper from 1967 up until his death. Ebert worked alongside Gene Siskel of the Chicago Tribune newspaper, with whom he reviewed movies on the Siskel and Ebert television program until Siskel's death in 1999.

On Saturday Night Live, Ebert made 3 cameo appearances with Siskel: on the Season 8 premiere on September 25, 1982, hosted by original (and former) cast member Chevy Chase, with musical guest Queen. The Season 9 premiere on October 8, 1983, hosted by the television executive who was the president of NBC Brandon Tartikoff, with musical guest John Cougar Mellencamp and SNL Film Festival on March 2, 1985 and was impersonated by Phil Hartman and Chris Farley.
