Richard Starkey, MBE (born July 7, 1940), better known by his stage name Ringo Starr, is an English musician and actor who gained worldwide fame as the drummer for The Beatles from 1962 to 1970, replacing Pete Best. He hosted Saturday Night Live on December 7, 1984.
He was also impersonated by Jon Lovitz on the December 14, 1985 episode during the "Entertainment Tonight" sketch, on the February 14, 1987 episode during the "Jingle" sketch and on the October 15, 1988 episode during "The Five Beatles" sketch and by Fred Armisen on the April 2, 2011 episode during the "Knights of the Realm" sketch.
