Phillip John "Phil" Donahue (born December 21, 1935) is an American media personality, writer and film producer best known for being the creator and the host of the syndicated talk show The Phil Donahue Show, also known as Donahue, from 1967 to 1996. Although he has never been on Saturday Night Live, he has been impersonated by Joe Piscopo on October 2, 1982 and January 21, 1984 and by Phil Hartman five times from October 18, 1986 to September 30, 1989, which were all during the "Donahue" sketch, and by Darrell Hammond six times from October 28, 1995 to February 21, 2004.
