The season premiere of Season 14 and the 247th episode of Saturday Night Live premiered on October 8, 1988, hosted by actor Tom Hanks with musical guest Keith Richards, an English musician, singer and songwriter. This is Tom Hanks' 3rd time as host and the 2nd and final appearance for Keith Richards on the show, as well as his only time as the solo musical guest.
