The 507th episode and 2nd episode of Saturday Night Live's 27th season premiered on October 6, 2001. It was hosted by actor Seann William Scott with rock band Sum 41 as the musical guest. This was William Scott's only time hosting and Sum 41 made their musical guest debut on SNL. Ben Stiller was originally scheduled to be host but he was unable to make it and was replaced by Sean William Scott last minute[1]
