The 2nd episode of Season 22 and the 408th episode of Saturday Night Live premiered on October 5, 1996, hosted by actress Lisa Kudrow, star of the NBC's hit classic sitcom Friends, with singer-songwriter and musician Sheryl Crow as the musical guest.

Lisa Kudrow hosted for the only time, and she made her 2nd appearance, thus making her the third cast member from Friends to host.

This is also considered to be both the musical guest (and SNL) debut for Sheryl Crow.
