The 2nd episode of Season 12 and the 215th episode of Saturday Night Live premiered on October 18, 1986, hosted by actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner, star of the hit NBC's comedy series The Cosby Show, with musical guest Run-DMC, a hip-hop group. Sam Kinison appears as a special guest and Buster Poindexter sits in with the SNL Band.

This was Malcolm-Jamal Warner's only time as host and the only musical guest appearance on SNL for Run-DMC.
