This is Tracy Morgan's 2nd hosting stint and his first appearance in 6 years, 7 months, and 3 days, and the musical guest debut on SNL for Demi Lovato.

The last time Morgan hosted the show was on March 14, 2009, the eighteenth episode of SNL's 34th season, with musical guest Kelly Clarkson, an American Idol Season 1 winner, and the star and judge of the longest-running singing reality competition series The Voice.
