The 874th episode and 3rd episode of Saturday Night Live's 45th season premiered on October 12, 2019, hosted by actor David Harbour, star of Netflix's hit science fiction horror drama series Stranger Things, and the hit films Hellboy, Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero film Black Widow, No Sudden Move, Violent Night, We Have a Ghost and Gran Turismo, with Cuban-born singer and songwriter Camila Cabello as the musical guest, who performs "Cry for Me" and "Easy". This will be David Harbour's hosting debut, thus making him the third cast member from Stranger Things to host, and Camila Cabello made her musical guest debut on SNL.

This episode also marked the return of Pete Davidson after being absent the previous two episodes of the season, due to filming of The Suicide Squad.

David Harbour's goodnight speech is "Thank you to Camilla Cabello, Billy Porter, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Woody Harrelson. It's been a dream of a Lifetime. I just want to Say, Mom, I Love you very much. Thank you. Good night". [Cheers and applause]
