The 891st episode Saturday Night Live was hosted by Bill Burr with musical guest Jack White. Country singer Morgan Wallen was originally scheduled to perform as musical guest, but was dropped when videos of him surfaced showing him partying without taking COVID precautions, such as social distancing or wearing a mask. On October 9th, 2020, a day before the show, it was announced that Jack White would replace Wallen as musical guest. This is also Jack White's third appearance as the musical guest on the show.
