The 2nd episode of Season 37 and the 704th episode of Saturday Night Live premiered on October 1, 2011, hosted by actress Melissa McCarthy with musical guest Lady Antebellum, a country music group, who performed "We Owned the Night" and "Just a Kiss." This was Melissa McCarthy's hosting (and SNL debut) and the only musical guest appearance on SNL for Lady Antebellum.
Melissa McCarthy's goodnights speech is "I want to say, "Thank You!" to Lady Antebellum! I've had the TIME OF MY LIFE here this week, the cast, the crew, New York City! Thank you for coming! This has been amazing!". (Cheers and applause)
