The 5th episode of Season 37 and the 707th episode of Saturday Night Live, premiered on November 5, 2011. It was hosted by the comic actor Charlie Day, the co-created, executive producer, writer and star of the FX and later FXX's hit sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Guillermo del Toro's science-fiction monster films Pacific Rim and its sequel Pacific Rim: Uprising and the hit films Horrible Bosses, and the sequel Horrible Bosses 2 and Fist Fight, and the animated films, Disney and Pixar's hit animated film Monsters University, The Lego Movie film franchise and The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and the musical guest was Maroon 5, a pop-rock band who performed "Moves Like Jagger" and "Stereo Hearts" with Travie McCoy. Adam Levine also appears in the "Kings of Catchphrase Comedy" commercial and the Greek Economy sketch. This is Maroon 5's 3rd musical guest stint on SNL, as well as the hosting debut for Charlie Day.

Charlie Day's goodnights speech is "Thanks to Maroon 5, Danny DeVito, Travie McCoy from Gym Class Heroes! I had an AMAZING time, I love this cast and I love this show! Thanks, Lorne Michaels! Good night!" (Cheers and applause)
