This is the hosting debut for Louis CK and the only musical guest appearance on SNL for Fun. It premiered on November 3, 2012.

- Weekend Update anchor Seth Meyers ended the segment by encouraging viewers to donate to Red Cross relief for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
- Tim Robinson was absent in this episode.
- It was later revealed that the "Roundball Rock" sketch from the April 13, 2013 episode (which co-starred Robinson and Jason Sudeikis), was originally written for this episode.
- Jay Pharoah never appeared in any of the live sketches. His only appearance in this episode was during the "Lincoln" filmed sketch as Freedman Jenkins.
- A sketch were he played President Obama addressing Hurricane Sandy was cut-for-time, and uploaded to the show's YouTube page.
