The 628th episode and 4th episode of Saturday Night Live's 33rd season premiered on November 3, 2007, hosted by journalist and television news anchor and reporter for NBC Nightly News Brian Williams with musical guest Feist, who performed "1234" and "I Feel It All". This is Brian Williams' only time as host and the only musical guest appearance on SNL for Feist.

This marked the final episode for longtime cast member Maya Rudolph (who had been a cast member since 2000), who left the show after more than seven years.

This was also the last episode to air before the 2007-08 Writers Strike (Maya would leave during said strike, and then the next episode would air until February).
