The 4th episode of Season 10 and the 182nd episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by actor and comedian Michael McKean, star of the ABC's classic comedy series Laverne & Shirley with musical guest Chaka Khan and special guest The Folksmen, a fictitious folk music trio. It premiered on November 3, 1984.

Michael McKean made his only hosting stint, and this was also the only musical guest stints on SNL for both Chaka Khan and the Folksmen.

Michael McKean would later return to SNL and joined the cast 10 years later, in the nineteenth season. McKean is also the only eventual cast member who first appeared as a musical guest (with Spinal Tap, May 1984).
