The 7th episode of Season 39 and the 752nd episode of Saturday Night Live premiered on November 23, 2013, hosted by actor Josh Hutcherson, star of The Hunger Games franchise and the animated film Epic, as well as the hit films The Polar Express, Little Manhattan, Zathura: A Space Adventure, RV, Bridge to Terabithia, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and its 2011 sequel Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Detention, The Forger, Escobar: Paradise Lost and Five Nights at Freddy's, with musical guests HAIM, a rock band, who performed "The Wire" and "Don't Save Me," and appeared in the "Josie" sketch. This will be Josh Hutcherson's hosting debut, thus making him the second cast member from The Hunger Games to host and HAIM made their musical guest debut on SNL.
Josh Hutcherson's goodnights speech is "Alright, guys, I want to say Thank You to everybody! Thank you to HAIM, especially! All you people! It was the Most Amazing Experience of My life, Thank you all so much!" (Cheers and Applause)
