The 313th episode and seventh episode of Saturday Night Live's 17th season, was hosted by actor Macaulay Culkin, star of the 1990's hit Christmas comedy film Home Alone and the sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, with musical guest, Tin Machine. It premiered on November 23, 1991. Culkin is the second youngest person to ever host an episode of SNL at age 11 years old, after Drew Barrymore, who hosted in 1982 at the age of 7 years old on the November 20, 1982 episode, the seventh episode of SNL's 8th season, with the musical guest being Squeeze. This is also the only musical guest appearance on SNL for Tin Machine, as well as David Bowie's 2nd musical guest appearance on SNL.
Bowie was previously a musical guest by himself on December 15, 1979 during the show's 5th season, with host Martin Sheen, which coincidentally, was the first episode for Al Franken, as a credited featured player (Franken had appeared uncredited on the show throughout it's first five seasons, up to that point).
