This was Lily Tomlin's SNL (and hosting) debut. This is also the only musical guest appearance on SNL for Howard Shore & the All-Nurse Band.

    • Miller has since explained that she was offered to write for the show, at the start of the season, but initially rejected it. She and Michaels then decided that she would join for this episode, since Miller previously worked with Tomlin, on her 1974 speical, Lily
