The 6th episode of Season 39 and the 751st episode of Saturday Night Live premiered on November 16, 2013. It was hosted by the pop singer, songwriter and dancer Lady Gaga, who is also served as the musical guest and performed "Do What U Want" and "Gypsy". Lady Gaga made her first-time hosting within this episode, as well as her 3rd time as the musical guest on SNL.

Lady Gaga previously made her 2nd musical guest appearances on SNL on the following dates: On October 3, 2009, the second episode of SNL's 35th season, hosted by Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds and on May 21, 2011, which is the Season 36 finale, hosted by singer-songwriter and actor Justin Timberlake.

Spotlightz! Acting Camp for Serious Kids   This commercial for Spotlightz Acting Camp showcases kids (Vanessa Bayer, Lady Gaga, Taran Killam) reenacting scenes from such serious films and TV shows as The Social Network, Training Day, Breaking Bad and Forrest Gump.

The Rosé Zone   A commercial for the Rosé Zone, the new channel that brings together all of reality TV's trashiest moments. No more boring recaps, make-ups or conversation, just non-stop women behaving badly all-day, every day. With Vanessa Bayer, Aidy Bryant, Cecily Strong and Beck Bennett as the announcer.
Goodnights and Closing Credits   Lady Gaga thanked R. Kelly, Lorne and the cast. She so happy to be here, her album "Artpop" is out now, but first they're gonna go party.
