The 915th episode and 6th episode of Saturday Night Live's 47th season premiered on November 13, 2021, and it was hosted by actor Jonathan Majors, star of the Netflix's hit Western film The Harder They Fall and the HBO's horror drama series Lovecraft Country, as well as the hit films The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Devotion, Creed III and Magazine Dreams, with singer-songwriter Taylor Swift as the musical guest. This was Jonathan Majors' hosting debut. This is also the 5th musical guest appearance for Taylor Swift on SNL, thus making Taylor a five-time musical guest.

Taylor Swift previously made her 4th musical guest appearance on SNL on the following dates: On January 10, 2009, the twelfth episode of SNL's 34th season, hosted by actor Neil Patrick Harris, on November 7, 2009, the fifth episode of SNL’s 35th season, with herself as host, November 11, 2017, the fifth episode of SNL’s 43rd season, hosted by actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish and on October 5, 2019, the second episode of SNL's 45th season, hosted by English actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
