The 814th episode and 6th episode, as well as the eleventh post-U.S. Presidential Election episode of Saturday Night Live's 42nd season premiered on November 12, 2016. It was hosted by stand-up comedian and actor Dave Chappelle with hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest as the musical guest. This is the first post-election episode in the show's history since 2012, and it was the weekend following the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election. This is the first-time hosting for Dave Chappelle and the only musical guest appearance on SNL for A Tribe Called Quest.
Chappelle's long goodnights speech is: "Well I Would Like to Thank the Cast and the Crew of Saturday Night Live and Lorne Michaels for Having Me. (cheers and applause) I Would Like to Thank to Chris Rock, My Man. I Would Like to Thank Consequence and Busta Rhymes. And I Got to Tell You, Making A Comeback Is Scary as Hell. I Wouldn't Even Call It a Comeback, But Whatever It Is, It's So Much Better Not Coming Alone. So, Thank You to A Tribe Called Quest, Give It Up. I Love You, I Appreciate You. Good Night." (Cheers and applause)
