The 6th episode of Season 37 and the 708th episode of Saturday Night Live premiered November 12, 2011, hosted by actress Emma Stone, star of the hit films Superbad, Zombieland and the sequel Zombieland: Double Tap, Easy A, Crazy, Stupid, Love, Magic in the Moonlight, La La Land, The Help and The Amazing Spider-Man and the hit DreamWorks Animation film The Croods and the musical guest being British pop rock band Coldplay, who performed "Paradise" and "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" and appears in the "Someone Like You" sketch. Chris Martin also appears in the "Garth and Kat" segment on Weekend Update. This is Emma Stone's 2nd time as host, and Coldplay's 4th time making their appearance as the musical guest on SNL.
Emma Stone's goodnights speech is "Thank you to Coldplay, Andrew Garfield… Lorne, the cast… my mom, my dad, Spencer! Thank you SO much, you’ve been great! Thank you". (Cheers and applause)
