The 51st episode and 5th episode of Season 3 of Saturday Night Live premiered on November 12, 1977, hosted by singer, songwriter and pianist Ray Charles, who also was the musical guest, and performed "I Can See Clearly Now", "What'd I Say?", "Oh! What A Beautiful Mornin'", and a medley of "I Got A Woman", "I Believe to my Soul", "Them Got That", and "Hit The Road Jack". Comedian Franklyn Ajaye and Buck Henry made an appearance. This was both his only hosting and musical guest stint on SNL.
