The 952nd episode and 4th episode of Saturday Night Live's 49th season premiered on November 11, 2023, hosted by American and French actor Timothée Chalamet, star of the hit films One & Two, Miss Stevens, Call Me by Your Name, Hot Summer Nights, Lady Bird, Beautiful Boy, A Rainy Day in New York, The King, Little Women, The French Dispatch, the epic science fiction film Dune, and the sequel Dune: Part Two, Don't Look Up, and Bones and All, the adult animated music television special Entergalactic, and he was also the star of the new musical fantasy film Wonka, with musical guest Boygenius, an indie rock supergroup, with their new debut album, titled The Record. Chalamet previously hosted SNL on the December 12, 2020 episode, the eighth episode and Holidays episode of SNL's 46th season, with musical guest Bruce Springsteen and The E-Street Band. This is Timothée Chalamet's 2nd time as the host and also his 3rd appearance.
Phoebe Bridgers (one of Boygenius' members) previously made her musical guest debut on February 6, 2021, the eleventh and the 900th milestone overall episode of Saturday Night Live's 46th season, hosted by Schitt's Creek star Dan Levy. This is also the musical guest debut for Boygenius, as well as her 2nd musical guest appearance on SNL.
