Michael Joesph Jackson (born August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009), also known as the King of Pop or by his initials MJ, was an American recording artist, entertainer, and businessman who is recognized as the most successful entertainer of all time by Guinness World Records. He was also part of the group the Jackson 5 along with his brothers (Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon) from 1964 to 1984.

Although he had never been on Saturday Night Live, Jackson has been impersonated by Eddie Murphy on January 29, 1983 during the "Guy Talk" sketch and on January 14, 1984 during the "Nice Boys Don't Get Girls Pregnant" sketch, by Walter Payton on January 24, 1987 during "The Michael Jackson Workout Tape" sketch, by Chris Rock 4 times from December 7, 1991 to February 20, 1993, by Tim Meadows 7 times from February 5, 1994 to October 23, 1999, by Amy Poehler 5 times from February 15, 2003 to February 19, 2005, and by Dean Edwards on March 15, 2003 during the "Versace Oscar Fashion Preview" sketch.
