Megan Pete (born February 15, 1995) known professionally as Megan Thee Stallion (pronounced "Megan the Stallion"), is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Originally from Houston, Texas, she began writing and performing raps as a teenager and started releasing them exclusively onto SoundCloud from late 2016. Megan Thee Stallion first garnered attention when videos of her freestyling became popular on social media platforms such as Instagram. She has commercially released three EPs since 2017—Make It Hot, Tina Snow, and Suga—with the latter two charting on the US Billboard 200. She signed to 300 Entertainment in 2018, where she released her first full-length mixtape, Fever, in 2019 to critical acclaim.

In 2020, Megan Thee Stallion's single "Savage" went viral on the social media app TikTok and reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart following the release of a remix with Beyoncé Knowles. She subsequently featured on Cardi B's 2020 single "WAP" which became her second No. 1 on the chart and broke multiple streaming records in the US. "WAP" additionally topped the charts in countries such as the UK, Australia, Canada, Ireland and New Zealand, becoming Megan Thee Stallion's first No. 1 in all five countries. Throughout her career, Megan Thee Stallion has received several accolades, including two BET Awards, two BET Hip Hop Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, and a Billboard Women in Music Award. She was also listed in the annual Time 100 list in 2020.

On March 11, 2022, Megan Thee Stallion released a collaboration with English singer Dua Lipa, named "Sweetest Pie". On March 27, Megan made a surprise appearance at the 94th Academy Awards where she performed alongside various artists "We Don't Talk About Bruno" from the film Encanto. Megan made history becoming the 2nd female rapper to perform the Academy Awards. the first being Queen Latifah in 81st Academy Awards ceremony. She received acclaim at the Oscars for the surprise performance with Rolling Stone stating: "Megan Thee Stallion Makes 'Encanto' Track...All the More Magical at Oscars."

Outside of music, on February 15, 2022 - her birthday - Megan Thee Stallion announced the launching of a nonprofit, the Pete and Thomas Foundation, in honor of her late mother and father Holly Thomas & Joseph Pete Jr. The foundation seeks to help underserved communities in Houston, Texas and beyond with education, housing, and health and wellness needs. On May 1, 2022, the Mayor of Houston Sylvester Turner honored Megan for her philanthropic and humanitarian efforts for the Houston people by proclaiming May 2 Megan Thee Stallion Day in Houston, Texas, which falls on the same day as her grandmother and late mother's birthday. She received an honorary key to the City of Houston, a symbolic cowboy hat and belt buckle. In a Rolling Stone cover story, Megan revealed that she collaborated with Future for her upcoming second album on a song titled "Pressurelicious".

On August 11, 2022, Megan Thee Stallion took to Twitter to announce that her second studio album Traumazine would be released the next day.

Before her Saturday Night Live debut, she made a musical cameo on October 26, 2019, the fourth episode and the Halloween show, hosted by Chance The Rapper (who was also the musical guest), performing the song "Handsome" with him.

She made her an official musical guest debut and her 2nd appearance on Saturday Night Live on October 3, 2020, which is the Season 46 premiere, hosted by former cast member Chris Rock; which coincidentally, was the first episode for current cast members Andrew Dismukes and Punkie Johnson and first-year featured player Lauren Holt. She performed "Savage" with pre-recorded vocals from Beyoncé Knowles, Malcolm X and Tamika Mallory and "Don't Stop" with Young Thug. She also appears in the pre-recorded "Bottom of Your Face" and "NBA Bubble Draft" skit.

She returned to Saturday Night Live to hosting for the first time, pulling up her double duty and she made her 2nd musical guest appearance, as well as her 3rd appearance in total, on October 15, 2022, the third episode of Saturday Night Live's 48th season. She performs "Anxiety" for her first set and a medley of "NDA" and "Plan B" for her second.

Stallion is also becoming the second female rapper to be both the musical guest and host and pulling up her double duty since Queen Latifah back on October 9, 2004, the second episode of SNL's 30th season.

She also made another musical cameo appearance on January 20, 2024, the ninth episode and first show of New Year 2024 of Saturday Night Live's 49th season, hosted by Australian actor Jacob Elordi, to sing Not My Fault with Reneé Rapp (who is also the musical guest).
