The 930th episode and the Season 47 Finale of Saturday Night Live premiered on May 21, 2022, hosted by actress Natasha Lyonne, star of Netflix's comedy-drama series Russian Doll, and Peacock's mystery drama series Poker Face, and the hit films Antibirth, American Pie film series, Addicted to Fresno, Hello, My Name Is Doris, Sleeping with Other People, The Intervention, Snow Dogs, Honey Boy, Ad Astra, The United States vs. Billie Holiday and Jack Goes Home, and the hit animated film DC League of Super-Pets, with musical guest Japanese Breakfast, an indie pop band, who performed "Be Sweet" and "Paprika". Natasha Lyonne made her hosting debut within this episode, and this is the musical guest debut on SNL for Japanese Breakfast.

This marked the final episode for longtime cast members: Aidy Bryant (a cast member since 2012), as she left the show after 10 years, Pete Davidson (a cast member since 2014), as he left the show after eight years, Kate McKinnon (a cast member since 2012), as she left the show after just over 10 years, Kyle Mooney (a cast member since 2013), as he left the show after nine years, Alex Moffat and Melissa Villaseñor (both cast members since 2016), as they both left the show after six years, and Chris Redd (a cast member since 2017), as he left the show after five years. This would be also the last episode for first-year featured player Aristotle Athari, as he would be let go after only one season.

Final Encounter Cold Open   After experiencing their third alien abduction, three people (Natasha Lyonne as Carla, Cecily Strong as Sharon, and Kate McKinnon as Miss Rafferty) are questioned again by two agents (Aidy Bryant and Mikey Day) at the Pentagon. In a sendoff to Kate McKinnon, the sketch ends with Miss Rafferty boarding an alien ship and delivering the opening "Live from New York!" line for the 75th and final time, remains in sole possession of 2nd place all-time (2 behind Darrell Hammond). This marked the final appearance of the SNL sketch, as of this episode.
Opening Montage   This marked the final episode to use seasons 46-47 opening, the final time that 8 cast members are credited in the intro.
Monologue by Natasha Lyonne   Hosting for her first time, Natasha Lyonne talks about her Netflix series, Russian Doll, shares a story about her father and reflects on her acting career. Longtime former cast members Maya Rudolph and Fred Armisen cameo.

With Chloe Fineman and Bowen Yang as the audience members. This marked the final appearance of the SNL sketch, as of this episode.
After High School   A student (Andrew Dismukes) takes a look at what his high school classmates (Natasha Lyonne, Aristotle Athari, Aidy Bryant, Mikey Day, Chloe Fineman, Heidi Gardner, James Austin Johnson, Punkie Johnson, Kate McKinnon, Alex Moffat, Kyle Mooney, Ego Nwodim, Chris Redd, Sarah Sherman, Cecily Strong, Melissa Villaseñor and Bowen Yang) are up to now, during prom. The entire cast appears in this sketch. With Kenan Thompson as the DJ. This marked the final SNL sketch appearance of Chris Redd as a cast member and the last sketch appearance of Aristotle Athari as a cast member.

Weekend Update with Colin Jost and Michael Che Weekend Update anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che tackle the week’s biggest news, like Taylor Swift delivering a college commencement address and a woman being saved from a mountain lion by her dog. With guests Guy Who Just Bought a Boat (Alex Moffat in his final SNL sketch appearance as a cast member), Trend Forecasters (Aidy Bryant and Bowen Yang), and Pete Davidson (saying farewell to SNL in his final Update/SNL appearance as a cast member).
Mr. Dooley   Three co-workers (Cecily Strong, Heidi Gardner, and Ego Nwodim) try to cover up the fact that they killed their boss (Natasha Lyonne). With Kyle Mooney and longtime former cast member Fred Armisen.

Goodbyes   Natasha Lyonne thanked Japanese Breakfast, Fred Armisen, Maya Rudolph, Lorne and the cast and crew, she had the time of her life and tells everyone to have a very have a great summer. Final episode to credit Colin Jost and Michael Che as head writers. Also, the final episode where the cast, band, host, guests, musical guests, former cast members and the audience members wear COVID-19 face masks in the goodnights. The cast and crew are hugging and crying because the departures of Pete, Kate, Aidy, and Kyle saying their goodbyes.
