The 286th episode and the season finale of Season 15 of Saturday Night Live premiered on May 19, 1990, hosted by actress Candice Bergen, star of the CBS' hit classic comedy series Murphy Brown with musical guest The Notting Hillbillies. This is Candice Bergen's 5th time as the host, thus making her a five-time host, and reaching the Five-Timers Club. This is also the only musical guest appearance on SNL for The Notting Hillbillies.
This marked the final episode for longtime cast members Nora Dunn and Jon Lovitz (both cast members since 1985), both of whom left the show after five years.
