The season finale of Season 28 and the 545th episode of Saturday Night Live premiered on May 17, 2003, hosted by original (and former) cast member Dan Aykroyd with musical guest Beyoncé. This was Dan Aykroyd's first-time as the host. Beyoncé made her 2nd musical guest stint and also made her solo musical guest debut on SNL.
This marked the final episode for longtime cast members: Chris Kattan and Tracy Morgan (both cast members since 1996), as they both left the show after seven years, and Dean Edwards (who joined the cast in 2001), as he was let go from the show after just two years.
Dan Aykroyd’s goodnights speech is "Thank you, Beyoncé! Jay Z! John Goodman, Jim Belushi! Thank you! Wow! What a team! What a crew! Have a great summerrrrrrrrrrrr!!!". (Cheers and applause)
