The 929th episode and 20th episode of Saturday Night Live's 47th season premiered on May 14, 2022, hosted by pop singer and actress Selena Gomez, star of the Hulu's hit series Only Murders in the Building. Rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer Post Malone was the musical guest. Gomez previously was the musical guest on the January 23, 2016 episode, the eleventh episode of SNL's 41st season, hosted by the professional wrestler, actress and mixed martial artist Ronda Rousey. This is Selena Gomez's second appearance, as well as her first-time hosting SNL.

This is also Post Malone’s musical guest debut on SNL.
