The 19th episode of Season 15 and the 285th episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by stand-up comedian and actor Andrew Dice Clay with musical guests The Spanic Boys & Julee Cruise and it premiered on May 12, 1990.
This is the only musical guest appearances on SNL for both The Spanic Boys & Julee Cruise and the only time hosting for Andrew Dice Clay.
The episode attracted controversy when it was announced that Andrew Dice Clay would be hosting, as he had become infamous for his stand-up jokes about women. Cast member Nora Dunn, who was not a fan of said jokes, boycotted the show and refused to appear in the episode. Planned musical guest Sinead O’Connor also dropped out in protest, and was replaced by The Spanic Boys and Julee Cruise.
