Norma Jeane Mortenson (June 1, 1926 - August 5, 1962), better known by her stage name Marilyn Monroe, was an American actress, model and singer, who became a major sex symbol, starring in a number of commercially successful motion pictures during the 1950s and early 1960s.

Although she never existed during the time of Saturday Night Live, she has been impersonated by Mary Gross on October 17, 1981 during the "An Editorial Reply" sketch, by Terri Garr on November 12, 1983 during the "Kennedy: The Man Behind The Woman!" sketch, by Madonna on November 9, 1985 during the "National Inquirer Theatre" sketch, by Charlize Theron on November 4, 2000 during the "The Seven Year Itch" sketch, by Abby Elliott on December 19, 2009 during the "Vincent Price's Christmas Special" sketch and on April 9, 2011 during the "The Roosevelts" sketch, by Nasim Pedrad on December 10, 2011 during the SNL Digital Short and by Chloe Fineman on October 8, 2022 during "Marilyn Monroe Fanmail".
