The 845th episode and 16th episode of Saturday Night Live's 43rd season premiered on March 17, 2018, hosted by longtime former cast member Bill Hader, the creator, producer, writer, director, and star of the HBO dark comedy series Barry and the hit films The Skeleton Twins, Trainwreck, It Chapter Two, and Noelle, and the animated films Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs franchise, Turbo, Inside Out, The Angry Birds Movie and the sequel The Angry Birds Movie 2, Power Rangers and Toy Story 4, with musical guests Arcade Fire, a Canadian indie/rock band. This is Bill Hader’s 2nd time as host and the 4th musical guest appearance on SNL for Arcade Fire.
Arcade Fire previously made their 3rd musical guest appearance on SNL on the following dates: On February 24, 2007, the fourteenth episode of SNL's 32nd season, hosted by actor Rainn Wilson, star of the NBC's classic comedy series The Office, on November 13, 2010, the fifth episode of SNL's 36th season, hosted by actress Scarlett Johansson and on September 28, 2013, which is the Season 39 premiere, hosted by another longtime former cast-member and head writer Tina Fey; which coincidentally, was the first episode for then-cast members Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney.
