The 14th episode of Season 39 and the 759th episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by actor Jim Parsons, star of the CBS' hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory, with musician, singer and songwriter Beck as the musical guest, who performed "Blue Moon" and "Wave". It premiered on March 1, 2014. This was Jim Parsons' hosting debut, and this is also the seventh musical guest appearance for Beck on SNL.
The last time Beck was the musical guest on October 28, 2006, the fourth episode and Halloween show of SNL's32nd season, with English actor and comedian Hugh Laurie as the host.
