Kathryn McKinnon Berthold (born January 6, 1984), better known by her stage name Kate McKinnon, is an American actress and comedienne who became a featured cast member of Saturday Night Live on April 7, 2012, replacing Paul Brittain. She is the first openly lesbian member of SNL's cast, and the first gay cast member since Terry Sweeney and Danitra Vance in 1985.

McKinnon won a 2014 American Comedy Award and 2016 and 2017 Primetime Emmy Awards for her work on SNL. She also starred in the female reboot of "Ghostbusters" alongside Saturday Night Live alumni Kristen Wiig and Leslie Jones. As of Season 45 (her eighth full season on SNL), Kate is the longest tenured female cast member in SNL history, surpassing Amy Poehler (who left in the first half of her eighth season in December 2008).
