Jenny Slate (born March 25, 1982) is an American actress, comedienne and author who was a cast member on Saturday Night Live for only one season (Season 35) from 2009 to 2010. On SNL, her best known recurring character was Tina-Tina Cheneuse, an infomercial pitchwoman of unspecified Latino heritage who advertises personalized doorbells, car horns and alarm clocks.

In her first episode, broadcast on September 26, 2009, she accidentally said "fucking" during her debut sketch "Biker Chick Chat," which was heard on the live broadcast, but removed from subsequent reruns.

Despite having a recurring character, her contract was not renewed for another season and she left the show.

After her retirement from SNL, Slate became well-known for her series of Marcel the Shell With Shoes On children's books and short films. The films feature her as the voice of Marcel, a talking seashell with an Oobi eye and a pair of doll shoes. Slate also has found success in recurring television roles such as Stella in the HBO comedy series Bored to Death, Sarah in Showtime's House of Lies, Mona-Lisa in NBC's Parks and Recreation with Amy Poehler, and Tammy on the Fox animated series Bob's Burgers. She was also featured semi-regularly in the Comedy Central sketch comedy series Kroll Show.
