The 11th episode of Season 36, and the 691st episode of Saturday Night Live, hosted by comedian and actor Jim Carrey with rock duo The Black Keys as the musical guest. It premiered on January 8, 2011. This is Jim Carrey's 2nd hosting stint, and his first appearance in 14 years and 8 months. This is also the musical guest debut on SNL for The Black Keys.
He last hosted SNL on May 18, 1996, which is the Season 21 finale, with musical guest Soundgarden, a rock band.
Jim Carrey's goodnights speech is "Thank you, thank you, Black Keys, thank you, wonderful cast, thank you, Lorne Michaels, thank you for all my friends who are here, I love you all! You are my favorite, I love it, hey, never lose your boing". (Cheers and applause)
