This is Willem Dafoe's first hosting stint, as well as his 2nd appearance.
The last time Katy Perry was the musical guest was on May 20, 2017, which is the Season 42 finale, hosted by actor and former professional wrestler Dwayne Johnson. This is also her 5th appearance on SNL, as well as her 4th time as the musical guest.
