The 13th episode of Season 2 and the 37th episode of Saturday Night Live. It was hosted by former football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 18 seasons, primarily with the Minnesota Vikings, a media personality and computer software executive, Fran Tarkenton, with musical guests Leo Sayer and Donny Harper. It premiered on January 29, 1977.

This was the only time hosting for Fran Tarkenton and the only musical guest appearances for Leo Sayer and Donny Harper on the show.
