The 861st episode and 11th episode of Saturday Night Live's 44th season which premiered on January 26, 2019. It was hosted by the Scottish actor James McAvoy, star of the X-Men film series, and the HBO's fantasy drama series His Dark Materials, as well as the hit films Welcome to the Punch, Filth, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, Split, Glass, It Chapter Two, My Son, The Book of Clarence, Speak No Evil, Turn Up The Sun! and Control and the three animated films Gnomeo & Juliet and the sequel and spin-off Sherlock Gnomes and Arthur Christmas, with musical guest Meek Mill, a rapper, who performed a medley of "Going Bad" and "Uptown Vibes" with Fabolous and "Champions". James McAvoy made his hosting debut, and this is also the musical guest debut on SNL for Meek Mill.
