The 980th episode and 12th episode of Saturday Night Live's 50th season premiered on January 18, 2025, hosted by American and French actor Timothée Chalamet, who also served as the episode's musical guest and the star of the hit films One & Two, Miss Stevens, Call Me by Your Name, Hot Summer Nights, Lady Bird, Beautiful Boy, A Rainy Day in New York, The King, Little Women, The French Dispatch, the epic science fiction film Dune, and the sequel Dune: Part Two, Don't Look Up, Bones and All, Wonka and A Complete Unknown and the adult animated music television special Entergalactic. This is Timothée Chalamet's 3rd time as the host and first and only time as the musical guest on SNL.
Timothée Chalamet previously hosted SNL on the following dates: On December 12, 2020, the eighth and Holidays episode of SNL's 46th season, with musical guest Bruce Springsteen and The E-Street Band, and on November 11, 2023, the fourth episode of SNL's 49th season, with musical guests Boygenius.
