It premiered on January 25, 2020.

Halsey previously made her 2 musical guest appearances on SNL on the following dates: On January 13, 2018, the tenth episode and first show of 2018 of SNL's 43rd season, hosted by actor Sam Rockwell and on February 9, 2019, the twelfth episode of SNL's 44th season when she pulled up her doble duty as the host and also served as the musical guest for her 2nd appearance.

This is Adam Driver's 3rd time as the host and the 3rd musical guest appearance on SNL for Halsey.

As of this episode, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant and Cecily Strong became the then first longest-running female cast members to have officially been on the show for their ninth and eighth full seasons.

Adam Driver's goodnights speech is "Thanks to Halsey, Jon Lovitz, Lorne, Steve Higgins, Don, Wally, The Cast, Crew, the Writers and This Audience Here and at Home, Good Night, Thank You Very Much". (Cheers and applause).
