Chester James Carville, Jr. (born October 25, 1944) is an American political consultant, political commentator, attorney and media personality who is a prominent figure in the Democratic Party and gained national attention for his work as the lead strategist of the successful presidential campaign of then-Arkansas governor Bill Clinton. He is also well-known for being a co-host of the CNN current events debate television program Crossfire from 2002 to 2005 and for hosting XM Radio weekly program 60/20 Sports since 2009.
Although he has never been on Saturday Night Live, he has been impersonated by John Malkovich on October 23, 1993 during the "Carville" sketch, by Ben Affleck on October 2, 2004 during the "Campaign Stop" sketch and currently by Bill Hader ten times from September 17, 2009 to May 4, 2013, which were all during the Weekend Update segment although the January 15, 2011 one was during the "Embracing Civility" cold opening segment.
