Jacob Paul "Jake" Tapper (born March 12, 1969) is an American journalist, cartoonist and author. He is the current Washington Correspondent for CNN and is the host of The Lead With Jake Tapper and State Of The Union With Jake Tapper.
Tapper was first impersonated by cast member Beck Bennett on March 5, 2016 during the Chris Christie endorsement for Donald Trump cold open. He appeared the following week during Ben Carson's endorsement for Trump. Beginning October 8 he became a recurring impression on the show appearing a total of seven times since March.
